Genshin Impact has made an update to the Tighnari voice, recasting the position to Zachary Gordon. The previous voice actor has been accused of sexual harassment, most notably with underage fans of the Genshin Impact franchise. Concerning the voice change up, Zachary isn’t a bad choice at all. In fact, he’s seen his way around in the video game world on multiple accounts. Examples of some of his previous work include Young Ravus from Final Fantasy 15, a handful of voices from Mafia: Definitive Edition, and Hayner from Kingdom Hearts 3.
Genshin Impact was swift with the replacement, some of Gordon’s lines already leaking out to social media for fans to enjoy. In anticipation for the real bread and butter of the English voiceovers, fans have been dividing the line between this voice actor and the previous. According to fans, this rendition is a little less whimsy and a tad more assertive. The tones Zachary uses makes the Tighnari voice just a bit less curious and a tad less inclined to seem foolish. However, the general verdict among fans is that he’s a good replacement, one that no one is openly protesting.
Generally, fans can’t wait to hear him in the 3.6 update that’s dropping soon. For those not in the know, the previous voice actor Elliot Gindi was recently fired after having been involved with multiple sexual harassment cases with underage persons within the community. These included chatroom cases as well as requests to see fans’ nude posts online. Elliot did not try to deny the claims, stating that “all the cringy sex talk” was real.

Gindi claimed not to have known that any of the fans he spoke to were underage. Outrage spilled out from fans to have Gindi replaced as soon as possible. At first, the replacement was delayed. After confirmation of the events that took place in February, the official Genshin Impact Twitter announced the change. They quickly addressed the issue properly from there. Now with the update coming soon, all Tighnari voice lines should soon be replaced. The equivalents that Zachary Gordon provides should do more than just simply replace a retired voice.
